Throughout modernity spaces are formed by constructive elements. A wall is a wall, a column is a column and a slab is a slab. The slender shelf negates the compactness of this architecture; it creates an element, which is wall, furniture and space at the same time.
It blends in with the surrounding and does not stand out as an object by its own. It stretches the border between the envelope and the space. The shelf is the silhouette of this stretched border. It is extended wall and materialized space at the same time. It is economic in a material and sublime in a formal sense.
